Correspondence & Workflow Optimisation Clerk

The purpose of this role is to manage the correspondence coming into the GP practice. The aim is to streamline the flow of correspondence through the practice and reduce the number of letters that the GP needs to see.

Success in this role would have a notable impact on the practice, optimising its processes, helping to ensure the best use of GPs – and other practice staff’s – time and in doing so, improving patient care and satisfaction.

Your role may involve:

  • Prioritising letters requiring GP attention
  • Read coding correspondence appropriately
  • Filing correspondence
  • Following up on appointments/referrals

You might be suited to a Correspondence & Workflow Optimisation Clerk role if you are:

  • Organised and methodical
  • Accurate with great attention to detail
  • Able to follow processes and protocols

Entry requirements and skills:

You will need to demonstrate:

  • English and Maths GCSE, grade B or equivalent
  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills, and/or relevant work experience
  • BTEC in Health and Social Care, Healthcare or equivalent may be advantageous
