Social Prescribers usually work in a GP surgery, health centre or community organisation and connect people with non-medical support to improve general well-being and tackle social isolation.
Social prescribers tend to be employed by local authorities, community groups or the NHS, to:
- Assess people’s care and support needs
- Link people with local support services
- Track people’s progress and improvement
Entry requirements:
- No set formal qualifications required, but you will need to demonstrate experience of volunteering in social care and health
- Social care qualifications (Level 2/3 Diploma in Health and Social Care) may be helpful to your application
- Level 3 Qualification in Social Prescribing may be an advantage
