Course information

This event supports current best practice in infection prevention and control. It is for Nurses working in General Practice and aims to cover the requirements set out in the Department of Health (2015) Health & Social Care Act 2008: Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.

It gives staff a refresher update and access to further information on infection prevention and control. The session covers the role of link champions, IPC audits, standard precautions, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, antimicrobial resistance, UTIs, Gram-negative blood stream infections and waste management.

A ‘Preventing Infection Workbook’ will be available free of charge for each practice.  A light meal will be provided and an opportunity to discuss practice with colleagues.

This is a free training event facilitated by Julia Shields, Infection Prevention & Control Lead  in conjunction with the Training Hub Nursing Team

We’d like to try and have a representative from each Practice attend.
