Looking after you too

nurse

The wellbeing of staff is everyone’s responsibility.

We recognise that frontline primary care colleagues involved in the delivery of primary care services, both clinical and non-clinical, are facing unprecedented challenges. Support is available to help employees manage their own health and wellbeing, while looking after others.

Support

Here for you

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) have launched a new support service in response to the pandemic, specifically for people who work in healthcare, social care, the voluntary sector or not-for-profit sector. Find out more.

If you work in these areas in Essex or Hertfordshire and need someone to talk to, we are here for you. You can also talk to us if you work in an Essex or Hertfordshire organisation, but your work base is elsewhere.

Call us 24/7 to confidentially talk through any problems you’re facing, whatever they may be, on 0344 257 3960. Alternatively, you can email us at hereforyou@nhs.net. This email address is monitored from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Health and wellbeing resources

Looking after the health and wellbeing of our NHS people is vital, to allow them to continue to help their patients, colleagues and loved ones. We’ve developed a range of options to support staff health and wellbeing. The offer has been accessed over 700,000 times by people from across the NHS and has something to suit everyone, including:

  • Support now – access to helplines, a text line and various wellbeing apps.
  • Support offers – access wellbeing support such as counselling and coaching, as well as support with bereavement, substance misuse, gambling and financial wellbeing.
  • Support for all leaders – access coaching, mentoring and leadership support circles.
  • Support for exec leaders – access 1:1 psychological support, mentoring, chief executive common rooms and stories from other leaders.

Looking After Your Team

This coaching offer is available for those who lead, manage or organise a team or group in primary care. If you have already taken the first steps to look after yourself, you may find this offer to support your teams of interest.

Book your coaching session

Who is it for?
All staff working in the delivery of primary care services. You will be either employed by the NHS or working with an NHS funded employer delivering an NHS funded primary care contract.

How does it work?
Register and book a coaching session. Sessions are available Mondays to Fridays between 8:00am – 10:00pm and on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00am – 6:00pm. The first session will last up to 45 minutes. The sessions will be delivered virtually, preferably via a video platform, but telephone appointments are also available. Subsequent sessions will be dependent on the conversation between you and your coach. Your coach might signpost you on to further support if they think this might be helpful. You may receive follow-up emails to support you in maintaining your wellness once your coaching sessions have finished.
